Footpath Group

Whilst for many, being a Rambler is simply a means of getting out into the countryside, and taking in the wonders of our natural heritage as part of a friendly group of people, there is some serious work to be done as well, to help maintain and preserve our footpaths for future walkers.

Along with many other local groups of the Ramblers, Erewash has an active footpath group, for those who want to get involved, and we work closely with representatives of Derbyshire County Council to maintain and upgrade the footpaths in our area.

If you would like to know more or volunteer your services, please contact our Footpath Secretary.

In June 2018, the Footpath Group received a grant of £350 for tools and equipment from Ramblers Holidays - for a report on the first project carried out after this, at the Gripps, Morley, along with photos, click here.

The activities of the group's first few years can be seen here.
