Today's Wednesday Walk - 4 miles from Draycott, taking in the route of the old Derby Canal. 12 hardy souls braved the weather. I won't mention the 4 "fair weather" walkers, who decided to turn round and head home! After an initial downpour, it was generally dry throughout, apart from a shower which scuppered the coffee stop. We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
