Today's Wednesday Walk. Warm and sunny morning saw 24 walkers set off from Swarkestone and routed along the canal towpath and then along the River Trent, as far as Barrow-on-Trent. Welcome to Hazel's granddaughters (Sonia and Saga) who managed half the walk. Well done! Thanks to Stephen B for leading and for the photos. We are a local group of The Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
