A forecast of continuous rain this morning kept numbers low at Kirk Hallam for the walk through the village to Pioneer Meadows, the Nutbrook Canal, the Nutbrook Trail and Straws Bridge - 13 walkers were pleasantly surprised by, apart from the first 10 minutes, the dry conditions for the majority of the walk - thanks to Alan for leading and for the photos and Gordon for handy work with his saw removing a tree across the path - post walk refreshments at the Cat & Fiddle.
We are a local group of the Ramblers,
based in south-east Derbyshire, established in 1981. We organise group walks in the
local area and beyond, lead by experienced walk leaders. We are a friendly bunch of like minded
people who enjoy the many benefits of walking in the open air. Our Footpath Secretary and Wardens work diligently to monitor and do minor cutting back on footpaths to help maintain Rights of Way in the Erewash area.
