If you are thinking of walking the area the following changes have been advised:- Temporary Closures; There are going to be a number of temporary closures affecting the tow path alongside the Erewash Canal due to maintenance and refurbishment work. The closures will affect different sections at varying times during the period 11 November 2009 to 30 July 2010. Paths affected are Sawley FP 20 (part) and Long Eaton FP33 (part) from 11/11/2009 to 31/03/2010 Sandiacre FP 19 (part) – south of Station Road from 01/02/2010 to 19/02/2010 Sandiacre FP 19 (part) – north of Station Road from 15/02/2010 to 02/04/2010 Stanton by Dale FP 21 (part), Sandiacre FP 19 (part) and Long Eaton FP’s 3 & 33 (part) from 22/03/2010 to 30/07/2010 The following paths are affected by temporary closure due to flood defence construction work; Sawley FP 14 & FP 15 (part) is an extension of a previous order of 18/06/2009 to 20/06/2010, There is a temporary diversion due to building works that affects Little Eaton FP 22 (part) from 20/01/2010 to 28/02/2010.
The new bridge over the barge channel at Long Eaton Meadows is now complete.
STANTON DEVELOPMENT It looks like our countryside around Stanton-By-Dale will be getting a reprieve from the intrusion of the new road. The proposed road route is planned to go over the railway and river by bridge and come out at Trowell. Lets not get too complacent however, there could always be a change of mind.

You can also use one of their Reporting Path Problems forms available from most libraries, or email: esprow@derbyshire.gov.uk . Always remember to give a brief description of the problem and the map reference. If you could also notify the Footpath Secretary of any problems reported, alternatively he can report it on your behalf.
