Holiday at Eastbourne -

9 - 14 April 2015

The group’s annual holiday this year headed to the south coast - it looks like the weather held good, and an excellent time was had by all, with a mixture of sun, sea, history, and (of course) a spot of walking!

As you can see from the photographs below, the trip included much more than Eastbourne itself. A visit to Rye and the memorial to the Mary Standford lifeboat disaster of 1928, when its 17 man crew were all lost; Camber castle, an artillery fortress at Winchelsea, built on the instructions of Henry VIII; the church at Winchelsea, which includes the grave of Spike Milligan; and the medieval Clergy House at Alfriston.

We are grateful to Jennifer Throup for taking these photos for the website.

Our holidays always sell out, so if you are a member, and would like to go next time, please make sure you get your name down early.

A team briefing at Alfriston!
